Wqw (Wesley Wang), a member of LTG Studio, released his debut EP Not Okay, It’s Okay on April 30th. This EP was primarily produced and directed by Wesley, with contributions from other members of LTG Studio as well as many local musicians from Toronto. The project blends Mandopop, R&B, pop-rock, and acoustic ballad elements, exploring different emotional stages of relationships through four original songs and a narrative music video. Listen Here
The majority of the recording sessions for this project took place at the Electronic Music Studio (EMS) at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, including vocals, drums, brass, cello, and other instruments. The bass, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar recordings that I (Mike) participated in were completed remotely from a home studio based in Richmond, BC. This also marked our first attempt at a fully remote online recording collaboration.

In addition to the audio production, one of the tracks from the EP, NOIO, was released alongside an official music video. The video was also directed and produced by Wesley, with cinematography support from Victor Huang. It take place in multiple locations in Toronto, including the piano practice rooms at Hart House at the University of Toronto, several areas around the University of Toronto campus, the lakeside in downtown Toronto, and Riverdale Park East.
The EP is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, YouTube, and more.
